Review: Rissa drops Hold Up to give us a new tasty spring track
This isn’t the first time we’ve said this about Rissa and it won’t be the last, the Sydney-sider we’ve grown to love is a major player and her level of creativity is phenomenal. She’s dropped a new track that is perfectly timed with the change of seasons as it holds a refreshing, vibrant tone throughout that compliments the new spring weather.
Her new track Hold Up, which features friend Zyad, takes on a modern day love story of two people in a relationship going through those I hate you now I love you feels.
“We created the track over two days with a small team of talent, we wanted to take the frustration of the songs meaning and make it funky! A track that people can relate to & also have a boogie to at the same time.”
The track itself mirrors exactly what Rissa and Zyad were trying to accomplish. The polished song is about passion and aggression and it resonates as it takes on a more upbeat and fluid approach with a bit of oomph that makes you want to throw throw it back. Yep, two throws because you want to throw it back doubly as hard.
The neo-soul singer is at the core of the Australian soul and Rnb scene, she has grown as an individual and really developed as an artist each time she puts new music out but has kept true to who she is a performer and as a creative. Once again Rissa has killed it and we can’t help that we are hella greedy and already want another new track, or even a cheeky album @rissa.
